The Interview

I interviewed for a position at Microsoft on Tuesday. I must say it was an experience and I’m not going to spoil it for any of you who haven’t done it yet.    I must say it wasn’t exactly what I expected, but close. At the end of the hour and a half I left knowing I needed to learn a little more. Client side scripting and XML/XSLT was what they wanted, of which I know little. Guess all that C# didn’t go very far for that particular position. Anyway, I will learn XSLT and I have no doubt I will go again, if not in that specific group then for a different one.

If Mike, Joel or Aaron read this, thanks for the time. I enjoyed it very much. I really like the layout of Redmond and the campus itself with the broad streets and walkways everywhere. Luckily it was sunny and traffic was light on the way there. The way back was full of phone calls and the famous Everett pavement parking lot. Not quite as bad as some days, but then it was early.
